Six Killed in Telangana as POCSO Accused Allegedly Targets Two Families After Bail

A shocking multiple murder case has sent shockwaves across Telangana after a man allegedly killed six people, including members of two different families, in Rangareddy district. The accused, identified as Rajkumar, is alleged to have carried out the attacks during the early hours of Saturday, only days after being released on anticipatory bail in a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Police personnel investigate the scene after six people were killed in Telangana's Rangareddy district

According to the preliminary police investigation, the killings took place at two separate locations in Daivalaguda village under Shabad Mandal. Investigators believe the accused first targeted the family connected to the POCSO case before returning to his own home, where he allegedly killed his wife and two young sons.

The six victims include the accused's wife, his two minor sons, the minor girl who had filed the POCSO complaint against him, the girl's mother, and her grandmother. Police suspect that the attack was driven by resentment over the criminal case registered against the accused. However, investigators have stated that all possible motives are still being examined.

Police officials said the accused had been arrested earlier in connection with the POCSO case and was subsequently granted anticipatory bail by a court. Following his release, investigators allege that he planned the attacks before carrying them out during the night.

After receiving information about the murders, senior police officers, forensic experts and crime scene investigation teams reached both locations to collect evidence. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination while investigators began recording statements from relatives, neighbours and other potential witnesses.

Police have formed multiple special teams to trace and arrest the accused. Security has also been increased in the surrounding areas as officers continue search operations. Investigators are examining digital evidence, mobile phone records and other forensic material to establish the exact sequence of events.

The incident has raised fresh concerns about crimes involving individuals who are released on bail while facing serious criminal charges. Legal experts note that bail does not amount to acquittal and that every accused person remains bound by the conditions imposed by the court. If an accused violates those conditions or commits another offence, it can have significant legal consequences.

The killings have also sparked discussions about the protection of victims and witnesses in sensitive criminal cases. Authorities often provide security based on threat assessments, particularly in cases involving serious offences. The latest incident is expected to prompt a review of existing safety mechanisms for complainants and their families.

Residents of the village described the incident as one of the most disturbing crimes witnessed in the area in recent years. Local officials have appealed for calm while the investigation continues and urged people not to spread unverified information on social media.

Police have stated that the investigation remains at an early stage and that additional facts will emerge as forensic reports, witness statements and other evidence are analysed. Authorities have assured that every aspect of the case will be examined thoroughly and that those responsible will be brought before the law.
